Heaven on earth
Came here with children/grandchildren ranging from ages 8 to 45. We rented all 4 bedrooms of Casa Del Sol and had a wonderful time. I’m 59 and my husband is 77 – it took us a bit longer than the younger generation to adjust to the quirks of this fascinating house, which is not a negative at all, just be aware that the house is so fascinating and interesting it may take you a few days to get oriented. A chain hotel this is not. This is an enchanting house for people who love peace and quiet and nature and art. This is our last day and nobody wants to leave. Owner very friendly and helpful.

A terrific place to stay in the sun!
Every year my Chicago bike racing team does a week-long training camp somewhere warm. This year we decided to go to Tucson and chose Alma del Sol as our home base. What a delight. The grounds of the house are gorgeous – the saquaros are beautiful and hummingbirds are fun to watch and we were able to start almost all of our rides right from the house! Comfy beds are a must for people doing a full week of hard training and Alma del Sol delivered. Plenty of beds and space for everybody. Plenty of extra bedding for chilly nights too! The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to make big healthy meals for hungry riders and we loved eating outside every night. Our whole group also appreciated that the solar powered home was environmentally friendly – and with a large group the fact that we had more than ample supply of hot water for showers. The evaporative cooling and AC system kept us comfy after long, hot days in the saddle! We made sure to take advantage of the great view of the stars from the hot tub in the evenings as a way to relax sore muscles. The sunrises and sunsets were gorgeous right from the house but for visitors interested in something truly spectacular – sunset viewing at Gates Pass is just a short drive away and worth the trip!

Spacious Southwestern home….such a treasure
This is a beautiful place …wonderful to wake up to sunrise through the saquaros! Convenient to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, the Tucson Mountains and Tucson itself. Fully equipped for cooking in, easy to chill in the great room after a day of hiking, big enough that even a large group of introverts could all find their own spaces to commune with the desert. Loved it! Hope we do get to come back again soon 🙂 Recommend La Indita on 4th Avenue for special south of the border cuisine with style and heart. Magpie’s Pizza also on 4th was also great, as was Tucson Taco. Cafe Desta represents a fine accessible Ethiopian.

Beautiful home in a beautiful setting
Five of us stayed at Alma Del Sol on a girls get-away. We enjoyed the peaceful setting and the humming birds that live in the yard. We had plenty of room, and also liked the proximity to Saguaro National Park.

Marshall and Glenda were extremely accommodating. We have stayed at Alma Del Sol for a few years with a triathlon team of 20+. The surrounding area is excellent for biking and running. The house, hot tub, and incredible surroundings made for great camps. Thanks to Marshall and Glenda for their amazing hospitality!

Fantastic!
We stayed at Alma del Sol in March 2016 with a group of 12 veterans. We needed a comfortable, private and affordable location for a week-long retreat and Alma del Sol was perfect. We used it as our base camp from which to make day trips to explore the area. Marshall and Glenda were wonderful hosts and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We highly recommend it!

Casa Del Sol was Fabulous for Our Conference
We stayed here for a retreat for our small non-profit and had an incredible time! The house is even more gorgeous in person than in the photos and Marshall was kind and accommodating.

Perfect for Our Group and Stunning Desert View
Marshall was an absolutely incredible host. Prior to our arrival, his communication was incredibly clear and present. He answered all of my questions promptly and accurately. Once there, he helped to orient us to the house. The house was spotless and filled with fresh towels. The kitchen is very easy to use and has all the appliances you would need. The landscape around the house is amazing. We were able to build a small bonfire as well with our student group. There’s great hiking close by to the house. If you like to run, there roads are safe and great for running near by the house.

An Incredible Stay at a Writing Retreat Haven
Eleven other writers and I spent four nights and five days at Casa del Sol for a writing retreat. We had a great time. The place was listed accurately. We cooked twice a day with the fully-stocked kitchen. It was an incredible stay! The surrounding desert was stunning and quiet. You could hear the desert animals at night. Thank you!
